Major Gods of Aarden
Jovan the Creator
The origin of all life and the Supreme God. He is known mostly for having created the universe and all other gods.
Jhesu the Son
Jhesu is the physical form of Jovan that left Hellaspeir for Aarden as a hybrid of all five races. Appearing when all hope seemed lost for the Jovan Coalition during the Darkness, he convinced Hira to rebel against Selvath and rejoin the Creator’s forces, ultimately sacrificing himself to assure victory.
Selvath the Void
The Dark Lord, formally the leader of the angels who rebelled against Jovan. He deceived many other angels into following him in revolt, eventually bringing the war to Aarden and involving the five races.

Imperus Fervus
Are the five most powerful angels after Selvath. Jovan, in the beginning, gave each one of them a land in Aarden to create life on through his power. They were each tasked with creating a superior race to worship Jovan. The Creator was then to pick the best of the five to inhabit the planet. However, when all was done, Jovan saw too much of himself in each race and decided to take pity on the inferior four races, allowing them all to continue.

The Darkness
Little written human history survives from before this time. Most records begin when this world war ended, including the calendar system. According to the elves, the war lasted fifty-five years, nearly wiping-out all five of the races. The ramifications were vast with the orcs and goblins losing their patrons, condemned to Hades, while the other three races gained their gifts of magic.
